The Sub-Saharan Africa Energy Network (SSAEN) is an African Labor Energy initiative to develop labour perspective on energy in Africa. The aim is formulating labour perspective to engage policy makers at regional, sub-regional and national level.
SSAEN brings together energy unions from Southern and West Africa affiliated to Global Union Federation (GUF) IndustriALL situated in Geneva.
From its inception SSAEN agreed on two pillars of work. The first pillar is around developing union views on energy mix, bearing in mind the sustainable supply of energy in the member countries. The second pillar is on the transition from current situation to new energy mix.
